Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 is a emotional rollercoaster.
One of the best Marvel films I’ve seen in a minute. It’s a blast from start to finish. All the Guardians films are pretty consistent. Each one better than the last. A lot of heart throughout the film. Yeah the Guardians are a crew but there’s also a family. We’ve come along way since 2014.
This time around its more focused on Rocket’s backstory and he’s out for the majority of the film.
High Evolutionary is a straight up menace. He’s a much better villain than Kang in every way. Blew up Counter Earth. Killed his own crew. Treated Rocket like an idiot. What he did to those animals. And worst of all he killed Lyla point blank. Diabolical. Didn’t stop Rocket from clawing his face off.
I really liked Adam Warlock’s Intro. He kinda like a newborn. Pretty different from the Warlock in the Guardians game. Doesn’t have the soul stone. Doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong.
Fun fact. He played a big part in the Infinity War comic. Going as far as wielding the Infinity Gauntlet. He even fought Thanos a couple of times.
My favorite scenes has to be the heist scene at Orgosphere because it reminded me a lot of the prison scene from the first Guardians film and No Sleep Til Brookyln. Out of all the Guardians films this has the best action hands down. It kinda gave my Suicide Squad 2 vibes but better.
I really didn’t expect it to end like this. All the Guardians survived. Peter left to visit his grandfather. Mantis went out into the wild to find herself. Drax is a dad again. Rocket became the new captain of the Guardians. Gamora and Peter went their separate ways. Nebula became Mayor of Knowhere. And Groot said “I love you guys”.
It’s the end for this iteration of the team but not the Guardians as the whole. I don’t know if they’ll make Guardians 4. Then again never say never. Anything can happen. They’ll probably appear in future MCU movies like Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. I love to see a Adam Warlock movie if it comes to that.
I’m so glad James Gunn got to complete his trilogy. He’s moving on bigger things with DC. If this is any indication I’m even more excited for Superman Legacy. He’s gonna to knock it out the park. My top choice would probably be Brainiac. I think it be pretty cool if they had a crossover with Scooby Doo and DCU Batman.
Overall, I love GOTG Vol 3. It knew when to be serious, fun, and had alot of heart poured into it. Soundtrack fire. I teared up towards the end when they’ll all dancing. I couldn’t ask for a better way to close out the trilogy. If there’s anything I learned from watching this is despite everything thrown at The Guardians, they never turned on each other. They always found another way. Even when Gamora was ready to give up, Star Lord never gave up on Rocket. He even left his mask that’s how serious this is. Never gave up on each other. Cause they family. Family always sticks together. At least that’s how I was raised. I don’t know where I’d be without my Dad.
I’ll really miss the old Guardians but they have a great run. And we can all learn a thing or two from Rocket Raccoon. Because. We. Are. Groot.
