Learning Curve

Learning Curve

Learning Curve starts off with Spidey stopping Shocker from robbing a truck. This version had a purple suit and shades instead of the red and yellow we’re all familiar with. The Flash Gang (Flash, Kong, Liz, and that guy) talk about that prize money for Spider Man pics in the library. Kong was more of Spider Man’s biggest fan than Flash as far as I know. Liz is still worked up from the Goblin attack. Like all Web Heads before him he takes his pictures to Jameson only to get $50. All that hard work. He’s hired as the web designer instead for helping Betty fix the website. Ben Ulrich got a scoop on a creature living in the sewer. A sly nod to The Lizard. Peter’s been getting nightmares of Uncle Ben’s murder. He’s not as close to Aunt May yet. It takes some time but they get there eventually. He looks up the mugger who killed Uncle Ben and finds a web of crime all linking back to Kingpin. Everyone knows he’s a shady crime boss with big hands. Ben Ulrich tried to expose him but he bought all the Bugle stock. After tangling with The Enforcers, he knocks on Fisk Towers office. Fisk came knocking instead. Get Out Of My Swamp Boy! And he lost his mask. I’m pretty sure Fisk put a hit on Carsen Daley. Next day he put the mask atop Mr. Big’s head and crushed his skull. You mess with Kingpin, he messes with you. Take notes, Disney. Netflix understood. Shouldn’t have recorded himself in 4K tho. Because like Nixon he thinks he’s untouchable or so he thought. Peter used his big brain to apply for a security company under a fake name. Then he got called in by a SHIELD agent undercover as the school doctor. He didn’t know she was a SHIELD agent at this point til Legacy. Spidey came back with a vengeance. He fought The Enforcers and Electro. Then final boss Kingpin shows up. Spidey slapped a bunch of fat jokes at him that had me on the floor. Can’t say the same for Kingpin tho. Spidey webbed him to the wall then left the building and took the tapes with him. He lost so badly he gained 20 pounds that night. Jokes aside, Spidey may’ve exposed him but it doesn’t last long. Kingpin is one of those villains that got everyone in his pocket. He can run his criminal empire in prison. Even if he were taken down someone else will fill the power vacuum left behind. I feel like he would be a great villain for Spider Man 4 now that Spidey has a clean slate. MJ’s mad at Peter canceling their movie date night. He makes it up to her by revealing his secret identity. Smooth Peter. Smooth. Kinda like how Peter 3 revealed his identity to Gwen in The Amazing Spider Man. What can possibly go wrong? Goblin threw her off a bridge. But that’s a story for another time.
